EMILY HSIAO
About Me
Where I Come From:
I am Taiwanese-American, born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go Blue!). My parents' backgrounds and their tenacity have allowed me to grow up speaking, reading, and writing Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, English, and some Spanish.

What Makes Me Tick:
I am passionate about working in the intersection of the private and public sectors, developing and collaborating on ideas that make our communities and economies more vibrant. My background is in management consulting, but I am also an economist and entrepreneur. To me, the best ideas and products come from user-centered design with iterative attempts, all based on real data. I am particularly excited by technological innovations that make opportunities more accessible for everyone.

What Keeps Me Sane:
In my free time, I love singing, cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
